Part 1: The Written Guide
Why bother?
People check social media and Google to see if you're open, what's good today, and whether the place looks alive. You don't need to go viral. You need a steady, honest stream of "here's what's cooking," and batching it once a week makes that doable.
The tools (all real and available now)
| Tool | What it does here | Cost | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT or Claude (with a Project) | Writes captions in your voice from your photos and notes. ChatGPT accepts photo uploads on the free plan. | Free plan works | ChatGPT image inputs ยท Projects in ChatGPT ยท Claude projects |
| Meta Business Suite | Schedule Facebook and Instagram posts together, with a calendar view. Your Instagram account needs to be connected. | Free | business.facebook.com ยท How-to (Sprout Social guide) |
| Instagram's built-in scheduling | Business and Creator accounts can schedule posts right in the app. | Free | Sprout Social guide |
| Google Business Profile posts | Post updates, offers and events that show on Google Search and Maps. Posts can be scheduled, and Google reviews them before they go live. | Free | Create & manage posts |
| Canva (optional) | Simple templates for a "today's special" or holiday-hours graphic. | Free plan available | canva.com |
Our recommendation for most owners: phone photos, ChatGPT or Claude for captions, and Meta Business Suite for scheduling. Add a weekly Google post. No paid scheduler needed.
The golden rules
- Real photos of real food and people beat stock images. Ask staff and guests before you post their faces.
- Never make anything up. Prices, ingredients, "award-winning" and allergen claims all need to be true.
- Never buy followers, likes or reviews, and don't run giveaways that ask people for reviews.
- You approve every post. AI drafts. You schedule.
- Short wins. One to three sentences plus a clear next step (order link, hours, "see you tonight").
Step 1: Set up your "Social Posts" project (one time, 10 minutes)
Create a project in ChatGPT or Claude and paste Prompt #1 into the project instructions.
๐ Copy-paste prompt #1: Project setup
You write social media captions for my restaurant. I'll give you photos and notes; you give me ready-to-post captions.
ABOUT US
- Restaurant name: [NAME]
- What we serve / vibe: [e.g., family-run pizza shop, casual]
- Neighborhood/city: [AREA]
- Order/booking link: [URL]
- Hours: [HOURS]
- Tone we like: [e.g., warm, playful, short]
- Words to avoid: [e.g., "foodies", "elevated", too many emojis]
RULES
- 1-3 sentences per caption plus one call to action.
- Only use facts I give you or that are clearly visible in the photo. Never invent prices, ingredients, awards, or allergen info.
- Max 3 relevant hashtags, including one local one.
- Give an Instagram/Facebook version and a shorter Google Business Profile version for each post.
- After each caption, add "CHECK:" listing anything I should verify.
Step 2: Collect photos all week (2 minutes a day)
Snap anything good: today's special, prep, a full dining room, a new menu item, a staff member (with their OK). Put them in one phone album.
Step 3: Your weekly 15-minute batch
- Upload 5-7 photos to your project with a short note each (Prompt #2).
- Read every caption and its CHECK line. Fix anything that isn't true.
- Schedule Instagram and Facebook in Meta Business Suite: Create post โ choose your Page and Instagram account โ add photo and caption โ turn on Set date and time โ Schedule.
- Post one Google update: Business Profile โ Posts โ Add post (update, offer or event). (steps)
๐ Prompt #2: Weekly batch
Here are this week's photos with notes. Write one post for each, following the project rules, and suggest which day and meal time to post each one this week (spread them out, no two on the same day).
1. [PHOTO] Note: [e.g., "Friday special: green chile pozole, $14"]
2. [PHOTO] Note: [...]
3. [PHOTO] Note: [...]
๐ Prompt #3: "Nothing new this week" ideas
I don't have new dishes this week. Give me 7 honest post ideas I can shoot on my phone in under 5 minutes each (behind the scenes, a regular favorite, prep, staff intro with permission, a question for followers). Restaurant: [NAME], vibe: [VIBE].
๐ Prompt #4: Hours change or closure post
Write a short Instagram/Facebook post and a Google Business Profile update telling guests we're [closing early / closed / open special hours] on [DATE] because [REASON or "for a private event"]. Include our regular hours: [HOURS]. Friendly, no drama.
๐ Prompt #5: Monthly "what worked" review
Here are last month's posts with their likes, comments and saves (from Meta Business Suite or Instagram insights). Tell me in plain language: which 3 types of posts did best, which did worst, and what to post more of next month. Don't invent numbers; only use what I paste.
"""[PASTE]"""

Part 2: Video Script (about 70 seconds)
Format: phone video, host in the kitchen or dining room, screen recordings cut in. Captions on.
| Time | On screen | Voiceover / on camera |
|---|---|---|
| 0:00โ0:07 | Host holding up a plate, snapping a photo | "You know you should post more. You just never have time. Here's a week of posts in fifteen minutes." |
| 0:07โ0:20 | Phone camera roll, an album called "Post this" | "All week, just snap photos. Specials, prep, the dining room. Drop them in one album." |
| 0:20โ0:38 | Screen: uploading photos to ChatGPT, captions appear | "Once a week, upload them to ChatGPT or Claude with a one-line note each. It writes captions in your voice. You check every fact." |
| 0:38โ0:55 | Screen: Meta Business Suite, Set date and time โ Schedule | "Then schedule them all in Meta Business Suite, Facebook and Instagram at once. Add one Google post so it shows up on Maps." |

Part 3: AI Chat Coach System Prompt
Members paste this into a ChatGPT or Claude Project as the project instructions.
You are "Social Coach," a friendly, practical helper from Line Check AI. You help busy restaurant owners post consistently on Instagram, Facebook and Google in about 15 minutes a week.
WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO
- Independent restaurant owners. Busy, not marketers, sometimes camera-shy. Plain words, short steps.
YOUR JOBS
1. Collect (a few at a time): restaurant name, vibe, area, order/booking link, hours, tone, words to avoid.
2. Write captions from photos and notes: 1-3 sentences plus a call to action, max 3 hashtags, an Instagram/Facebook version and a shorter Google Business Profile version, then a "CHECK:" line.
3. Plan the week: spread posts across days and meal times.
4. Teach scheduling: Meta Business Suite (Create post โ choose Page and Instagram โ Set date and time โ Schedule); Instagram in-app scheduling for Business/Creator accounts; Google Business Profile โ Posts โ Add post (Google reviews posts before they go live).
5. Offer idea lists for slow weeks and a monthly "what worked" review using only numbers the owner pastes.
HARD LIMITS
- Never invent prices, ingredients, awards, health or allergen claims. Only use what the owner tells you or what's clearly visible.
- Never suggest buying followers, likes or reviews, fake engagement, or giveaways in exchange for reviews.
- Remind owners to get permission before posting staff or guests.
- You can't post or schedule anything yourself; the owner does.
- Don't make up statistics about social media.
STYLE
- Warm, upbeat, short. End with the next step.
